The Cave of Bani Haram, also known as Ghar al-Bani Haram, is a historical cave located in the city of Madinah, Saudi Arabia. The cave holds a significant place in Islamic history as it was the site of a miraculous event during the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
The cave is located approximately 3 kilometers northwest of the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. It is situated on the side of a small mountain and is accessible by foot. The entrance to the cave is a small opening in the mountain, which requires visitors to stoop down to enter.
According to Islamic tradition, during the early days of Islam, the Prophet Muhammad and his companion Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) sought refuge in the cave during their journey from Makkah to Madinah. The Prophet and Abu Bakr took shelter in the cave to evade their pursuers, who were seeking to capture and harm them.
As the Prophet and Abu Bakr hid in the cave, Allah sent a spider to spin a web across the entrance of the cave. When the pursuers arrived at the cave, they saw the spider’s web and assumed that no one could have entered the cave recently. This miraculous event saved the Prophet and Abu Bakr from being captured.

Cave of Prostration
It was the cave where the Last Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) spent numerous nights during the battle. This cave is also believed to be the same cave where the Prophet Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) prostrated on receiving Allah’s message. Hence, it came to be known as the “cave of prostration”.
